Glen Werner, PAg, BSc, MAgSc
Glen has completed a long career with Alberta Agriculture and Food in 2008. This 35 year career included service to the Alberta's agricultural community, the development of
the Province's Rural Development strategy as well as strategic development work for Alberta's Nonprofit and Voluntary sector.
He served a term as a municipal councilor for the town of Killam and carried various committee responsibilities in that capacity including chairman of the economic development
committee. His volunteer community service included serving on the FCSS board in the Town of Stettler, the Social Planning Board of the City of Airdrie, the board of the Whitemud
Hills Home Owners Association in Edmonton and various positions on nonprofit organizations, cooperatives and volunteer boards.
His business interests include being a principle owner/partner in several rural-based Alberta companies that conduct business activities both nationally and internationally.
He was raised in rural Sask. and is a Professional Agrologist (P. Ag) having obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from U. of S. (1973), and a Masters in
Agriculture degree from the U of A (1987)
Glen is married to Liz and they have three adult children and four grandchildren.
